The brow lift/eyebrow lift procedure

Anesthesia

An eyebrow lift can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia, depending on the patient’s preference and Dr. Rosalia Luketina’s recommendation. This ensures the patient’s comfort throughout the procedure.

Choice of incision technique

There are several incision techniques for a brow lift, including the traditional coronal incision, endoscopic brow lift, and limited incision technique. The doctor will choose the most appropriate technique based on the patient’s specific needs and desired outcome.

Performing the forehead lift

Traditional coronal incision: A long incision is made across the top of the head, which is hidden in the hairline. The surgeon then lifts the forehead skin, repositions the underlying muscles and tissue, and removes excess skin before closing the incision.

Endoscopic forehead lift: Several small incisions are made in the hairline and an endoscope (a thin tube with a camera) is inserted to guide the surgeon. Using special instruments, the surgeon lifts and repositions the forehead tissue, securing it with sutures or other fixation devices.

Limited incision technique: Small incisions are made at the temples and sometimes above the eyebrows. The surgeon lifts and reposition the tissue through these incisions, allowing for more targeted treatment.

Closing the incisions Once the desired tightening has been achieved, the surgeon closes the incisions with sutures, staples, or adhesive strips. In some cases, drains may be placed to prevent fluid accumulation.
