The active ingredient poly-L-lactic acid specifically stimulates the body’s own collagen production—a natural reaction that results in smoother, firmer skin over several weeks. What changes does the treatment bring about?
After treatment with Sculptra®, the appearance of the skin can improve step by step. Through the targeted stimulation of collagen production, the skin gains elasticity and appears smoother and more even. Wrinkles and lines can be gradually reduced, and the facial contours appear more defined. Unlike traditional fillers, the effect develops gradually—but is therefore particularly natural. The face does not appear altered, but rather like a regenerated, refreshed version of itself. With each passing week, the skin structure becomes more robust, elastic, and vital. What to expect...
Preparing for treatment
Before treatment, we will discuss your wishes and analyze the areas to be treated. You should refrain from consuming alcohol and nicotine for a few days beforehand. If you are taking blood-thinning medication, please consult your doctor beforehand to avoid bruising.
Treatment procedure
After thorough cleansing, Sculptra® is injected into specific areas of the skin using fine needles. The treatment takes around 30 to 45 minutes. An anesthetic cream can be applied beforehand if desired. The product is distributed evenly to ensure gentle stimulation.
Right after treatment
Slight swelling, redness, or bruising may occur at the injection sites. These usually subside within a few days. During the first 24 hours, you should avoid physical exertion, direct sunlight, saunas, and makeup. A short lymphatic massage of the treated areas is recommended to support the effect.
Care after treatment
The skin should be cared for particularly gently in the days following the treatment. Use mild cleansing products and rich skincare to support the regeneration process. For optimal results, two to three treatments at intervals of several weeks are usually necessary. A refresher treatment may be beneficial after around 12 to 24 months.

The treatment is generally well tolerated. Thanks to the fine needle and local anesthesia if desired, pain is minimal. Many patients report only a slight feeling of pressure or tension during the injection.
